You are ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime. You have your planned destination, a detailed map and enough fuel to get going. You know that it is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to get there, but you intend to enjoy the journey and all the challenges that may come with it. Do you really think you can do all of this on your own?

We teach our children to stay safe and not to go swimming alone or walk off into the unknown on their own. We encourage them to ask for guidance when they are unsure and to get help when needed. These things are so basic, yet extremely important.

We want our children to be successful, confident and safe in this big beautiful world. That is why we tell them to be careful, to be prepared to be responsible. Good advice, yes, but only valuable when it is followed. Now think how much we can learn from the things we teach our children.

Who are you taking along on your journey? Who will share the ups and downs and the all arounds with you? Who will encourage you, when the road ahead seems to be so long and you are tired from long hours of hard work and dedication? Who will be there when you need guidance? Who will be there when you need help? Who will cheer you on year after year? You can not do everything on your own. We are not made to be alone. You need family, friends, your people to be witnesses to your life.

Now be careful, be prepared and be responsible. Share your journey with people who care about you. Ask for guidance when you are unsure and get help when you need it. Good advice, yes, but only valuable when it is followed.
